Different type of sheets materials and types of sheet normally used

Different types of materials are used for making roof sheets. The word metal encompasses wide range of metals for making sheets. It ranges from steel, stainless steel, aluminum, zinc and copper. Each metal has its own properties, which affects the durability, appearance and cost of the sheet.

Steel is used to provide heavy and durable sheets. Steel is sturdier than other metal used in making sheets. The steel sheets are coated with rust and corrosion resisted coating. The steel sheets are also coated with durable paint finishes for commercial uses.

Aluminum is very light material used for residential roofing .It is not prone to rusting but it is pained with color or coated with different colors. Aluminum is very soft material so it is liable to dent and mar easily than steel.

Copper metal roofing is very expensive but it has several benefits as it is not prone to rusting and also is soft enough to give any shape to the roof. But it is used only in high end houses and commonly it is not used.

Gambrel roofing is Dutch inspired roofing system. This roofing style has vertical gable ends and hangs over the façade of the homes. This style is very close to mansard roofing style

Mansard roofing style consists of four slopes, two on each side of the home. The lower parts of the slopes are steeper and more vertical than upper slopes. The upper slope may not be visible from the ground.
